Phyto Life Sciences, an Ahmedabad-based company primarily dealing with herbal extracts and phytochemicals, has decided to provide research support/funding to RK University’s Ph.D. Scholar, Mr. Himanshu Makwana. Mr. Himanshu is currently working on the bioactivity-guided isolation, characterization, and estimation of phytoconstituents from the leaves and roots of Launaea pinnatifida Cass. (a species related to the controversial drug “gojihva”), under the able guidance of Dr. Devang Pandya (School of Pharmacy). This work primarily focuses on the isolation and characterization of bioactive phytoconstituents. Phyto Life Sciences has received an ISO: 22000:2005 certification and is currently exporting its products to several countries around the world.
